About Laura

Understanding Your Experience
I’ve spent many years supporting people to achieve what they want to do in their everyday lives. I take the time to really get to know your strengths, preferences, and what matters most to you. I look forward to working together to help you engage in daily life in a way that feels right for you.
My Approach
I believe in being authentic and realistic when supporting clients through the challenges they face. I take the time to listen carefully, identify barriers, and provide practical, effective solutions to the frustrations you may be experiencing. This can range from exploring sensory preferences to create a calmer, more peaceful environment, recommending appropriate equipment to support independence in daily living, or implementing simple strategies that help a person perform at their best in tasks they find challenging. My approach is grounded in understanding your unique needs and empowering you with tools and strategies that make a meaningful difference in your everyday life.
Why I Do This Work
My journey to becoming an Occupational Therapist was inspired by my aunt’s experience following a stroke. I observed the focus on supporting her to regain independence and return to the life she valued, which motivated me to pursue this career.
What You Can Expect
At Oak Tree OT, you can expect a supportive and respectful service. I believe in supporting individuals to live the life they want, whether that means embracing new ways of doing things, building on existing strengths, or finding strategies that make daily life more accessible and meaningful.
